EMSculpt Neo by Area: Stomach, Bum, Arms, Thighs, Love Handles and Calves, With Prices
Contents
EMSculpt Neo is cleared for six areas, and they do not all respond in the same way. The stomach and the buttocks are the two most people come for, and the two with the most evidence behind them. The arms, thighs, love handles and calves work well for the right person and disappoint the wrong one. This page goes through each area, what the treatment changes there, what should come first if something else is going on, and what it costs at our clinic in Whickham, Newcastle.
The short version
- Stomach and buttocks: the best results and the most evidence. Arms, inner and outer thighs, love handles and calves: good for tone, less so for fat.
- One area is £2,000 for a course of four, two areas £3,250, three areas £4,450.
- If the area has a pocket of fat or loose skin, that is treated first and EMSculpt Neo comes after.
Stomach
The most popular area and the one the clinical studies focus on. EMSculpt Neo builds the abdominal muscles, including the deep ones that sit ups do not reach, and reduces the fat over them in the same session. The result at three months is a flatter, firmer middle with more definition. It is also the treatment for the separated muscles pregnancy can leave, once you have been signed off to exercise, because the contractions pull the muscles back towards the centre and strengthen them. Where it falls down is a large layer of fat, which stops the contractions reaching the muscle. A pinch of fat is fine. A handful needs fat freezing or Emerald Laser first, and we will say so at the assessment.
Buttocks
The second most popular area and the one people are most surprised by. The aim here is muscle rather than fat loss, and four sessions build the glutes enough to lift and round the shape without filler or surgery. It suits a bottom that is flat or has dropped, and it is the treatment behind our non-surgical bum lift. It does not add volume the way a surgical BBL does, and it does not tighten loose skin, which on the buttocks is usually a job for Exilis. Six sessions rather than four suits someone who wants real lift.
Love handles and obliques
The muscles down each side of the waist respond well, and treating them sharpens the line between the ribs and the hips. The catch is that love handles are usually mostly fat, and fat is the half of the job EMSculpt Neo does less of. If you can pinch a good roll at the side, fat freezing takes it away more reliably and EMSculpt can define what is left. If the sides are soft rather than fat, EMSculpt alone does it.
Upper arms
The treatment builds the triceps and biceps and reduces the fat over them, which firms the arm and improves the shape. What it will not do is tighten the skin that hangs under the arm when you wave. That is bingo wings, and it needs skin tightening rather than muscle. Our bingo wings guide explains how to tell whether yours is fat, skin or muscle, because the answer decides the treatment.
Inner and outer thighs
Inner thighs are the more common of the two. The treatment tones the adductors and reduces the fat between the legs, and the before and after images on our results page show the kind of change a course makes there. Outer thighs respond for shape, although saddlebags are mostly fat and usually do better with freezing first. Loose inner thigh skin, which is common after weight loss, is an Exilis job.
Calves
The least requested area and a specific one. It is for people who want more shape in the lower leg, often because the calves have never grown however much they train, and for some people with weak calves after an injury. It builds the muscle; there is rarely much fat to treat here.
How areas are priced
| Areas | Course of four | Course of six |
|---|---|---|
| One area | £2,000 | £2,999 |
| Two areas | £3,250 | £4,499 |
| Three areas | £4,450 | £5,999 |
Each area needs its own course, and the price per area comes down as you add them. Every course starts with a free assessment, 0% finance over 12 months is available on plans of £1,000 or more, and the Sculpt Pro package pairs six sessions of EMSculpt Neo with six of Exilis on the same area for £2,999. Our EMSculpt Neo cost guide has the detail and compares it with the rest of the UK.
Choosing the right area, or the right treatment
The question we ask at the assessment is whether the thing bothering you is muscle, fat or skin. Muscle is EMSculpt Neo. Fat is fat freezing or Emerald Laser, with EMSculpt after if you want definition. Skin is Exilis or HIFU. Most areas are a mix, which is why so many people end up with two treatments in an order rather than one, and our body sculpting guide goes through how we decide.
Common questions
Can you treat two areas in one session?
Each area gets its own 30 minute session. If you are having two areas, we can often book them back to back on the same visit.
Which area gives the best EMSculpt Neo results?
The stomach, followed by the buttocks. They have the most muscle to work with and the most evidence behind them.
Does EMSculpt Neo work on the arms?
Yes, for tone and for the fat over the muscle. It does not tighten loose skin under the arm, which needs Exilis.
Can EMSculpt Neo treat the back?
It is not cleared for the back, and we do not treat it. Back fat is usually a fat freezing or Emerald Laser job.
