HIFU Treatment Newcastle.
RT Aesthetics offers advanced MED: HIFU Ultra treatments at our Newcastle clinic.
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, it is the latest non-surgical, non-invasive clinically proven technology for lifting and tightening the face, neck, décolletage and other areas of the body. It works by naturally stimulating the production of new collagen for a natural, textured and younger-looking appearance.*
HIFU treatment also known as HIFU facials, HIFU facelift and Ultherapy® is a revolutionary new technology that has been tried and tested for its benefits. HIFU treatment can lift and tighten the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer of the skin. The SMAS layer is the same layer targeted during conventional surgery.
MED: HIFU Ultra is only used by approved medical clinics like ours – so you know you’ve got the best care with RT Aesthetics in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Non-Surgical Facelift Newcastle.
HIFU treatment has become one of the most sought-after lifting treatments for the face, neck & body, without going under the knife. HIFU is able to reach deep layers of the skin tissues that other anti-aging treatments cannot affect. This makes HIFU treatment a very popular alternative to surgery or more invasive treatments such as thread lifts or injectable toxins and fillers. HIFU treatment can lift and tighten the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer of the skin. The SMAS layer is the same layer targeted during conventional surgery.
Just one session will tighten and lift the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin tone, providing visible results that will last up to 3 years. HIFU has proven effective on sagging jaws/chins, crows feet, forehead frown lines and much more. Treatment time takes between 1 – 3 hours depending on the area we are treating. Plus with no downtime, you can be back at your usual routine immediately after.
RT Aesthetics offers advanced MED: HIFU Ultra treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy that is able to target the SMAS layer (deep structural layers) of the skin. By targeting heat at the specific depths within the skin layers the body undergoes the regenerative process, resulting in the production of new collagen. As new collagen is produced and increased within the treatment area, this leads to gentle lifting and tightening of the skin.
How HIFU Treatment Works.
HIFU treatments are based on hyperthermia lifting theory. The HIFU transducer irradiates 65-75Cº of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) energy into the skin, this then creates thermal coagulation on the target layers of skin tissue with no damage on the skin surface. Following the initial treatment, the skin starts to undergo a wound-healing process that simulates collagen synthesis and regeneration.
Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery and other cosmetic procedures, HIFU bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths within the skin at the desired temperature. This HIFU energy triggers a natural response under the skin, causing the body to enter into the regenerative process, resulting in the production of new collagen.
RT Aesthetics offers advanced 4D HIFU treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy that is able to target the SMAS layer (deep structural layers) of the skin. By targeting heat at the specific depths within the skin layers the body undergoes the regenerative process, resulting in the production of new collagen. As new collagen is produced and increased within the treatment area, this leads to gentle lifting and tightening of the skin.
HIFU treatment helps to reduce the signs of aging, for a younger, more refreshed appearance. HIFU treatment can also help reduce, uneven and/or untextured skin and areas of excess skin on the body. The treatment is unique in its ability to penetrate beneath the surface of the skin, targeting 3 different layers of the skin, including the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer.

HIFU Treatment Results.
Results from HIFU treatment can be seen within 6-12 weeks, with further results being reported for up to 6 months after the initial procedure. Clients who have undergone HIFU treatment can benefit from long-lasting results in excess of 2 years*. Although, as the skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments may be taken by the client yearly, this can help clients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.
Many clients only need one HIFU treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy, and the client’s collagen-building process, some clients benefit from additional treatment after 4 weeks.
HIFU History.
MED: HIFU came out in 2017 and has been used in many salons across the UK. If you want to skip to the latest HIFU then please click here. HIFU is updated yearly and in the last 3 years it has come a long way. The latest HIFU generation is MED: HIFU Ultra.
However, not all clinics will offer this new MED: HIFU Ultra treatment as it requires a specialist aesthetic practitioner to operate the machine. However, this machine is proven to work and we would definitely say this machine is far better than 4D & 5D HIFU. It fires 950,000 more focused ultrasound dots within the skin and is proven to be 92% more effective than 4D & 5D HIFU.

There was another device released in 2018 called 5D HICE ICE, however, this was a cheap Chinese copy of the machine and its effects have been little proven. The device has caused many injuries and severe side effects in the UK.
We would strongly recommend against this technology and going to an approved HIFU clinic.

Although risks are rare, some clients report mild redness, bruising and slight swelling after treatment. These are mild and can last up to 48 hours post treatment, however most clients do not suffer any post-treatment sensitivities.

Our Care.
Prior to your MED: HIFU Ultra treatment there are a number of steps you can take to ensure the best possible results following your treatment. This includes the following:
- Increase water intake (aim for 2 – 3 litres)
- Avoid botox/filler 4 weeks prior to treatment (2 weeks for HydraFacial Treatment)
- Avoid any facial peels, exfoliation or microdermabrasion 2 weeks before treatment
- It’s recommended that male clients come to their appointment clean shaven
- We cannot provide the treatment if you have previously had threads within the last year unless it has been discussed with the Aesthetic Practitioner prior to treatment
- Avoid alcohol consumption for minimal of 48 hours prior to your appointment
- Avoid IPL / laser treatments in the area that you wish to have treated 2 weeks prior to your appointment
- Avoid sun-beds or direct UV exposure for a minimal of 1 week prior to your appointment
- If you have any open sores, infection or skin sensitivity in the area we cannot treat unless discussed with the Aesthetic Practitioner prior to treatment
- If you have a history of cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment no later than the day of treatment
- We would recommend that you take some painkillers before your appointment as this can help reduce any pain from the treatment. Paracetamol is the one we would recommend, and we would advise to take this 1 hour before your HIFU appointment.
In order to achieve optimum results from your MED: HIFU Ultra treatment, we strongly recommend the following:
- Avoid alcohol consumption for minimal of 48 hours
- Avoid hot water, heat treatments (saunas, steam rooms, etc) or extreme cold for 24 hours
- Drink 2 – 3 litres of water daily, keep a large bottle with you at all times and infuse with lemons and limes for flavour, this will help hydrate the skin and help to flush out toxins
- Avoid sun-beds or direct UV exposure for a minimum of 1 week and apply SPF daily to protect the skin
- RT Aesthetics have a range of different skincare to help after your treatment, the skincare should be used after your treatment daily and the directions on how to use each product can be found on the bottle/packaging
- Skin may feel dry after treatment, therefore you should apply a replenishing/hydrating mask three times a week or apply hyaluronic acid
- Do not take aspirin or other anticoagulant medications as this can hinder the healing process
- Normal cleansing regimes can be resumed after 24 hours, although avoid using scented or fragranced products around the treatment area unless you are using the skincare given to you at the clinic
- Allow 2 weeks before continuing any laser/IPL treatments in the area that you had treated
