How much does a HIFU Facial cost?
How Much Is A HIFU Facial
Prices range depending upon the area being treated and start from around £1200. - £2500.
You will typically only require 1 treatment, however more sessions may be required to achieve the result you would like. This will of course be discussed during your consultation.
HIFU treatments done by Aesthetic Practitioners are not cheap, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. HIFU treatments done for less than £850 should be a cause of concern. The pricing is made up of the machine used, the cartridges used and the skill of the practitioner.
What Is HIFU Facial
HIFU uses Focused Ultrasound to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly. Once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage, which in turn stimulates the cells to produce more collagen.
Collagen is the protein that give your skin its structure. As the collagen increases, this results in firmer skin with fewer wrinkles. As the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin’s surface, there’s no damage to the upper layers of the skin and no immediate visible signs of treatment.
The history of HIFU
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a relatively new non-invasive cosmetic treatment for skin tightening that some consider and painless replacement for face lifts. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage the production of collagen, which results in firmer and tauter skin.
HIFU is historically known for its use in treating cancer.
The first reported use of HIFU for aesthetic use was in 2008. HIFU was then approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the US) in 2009 for brow lifts. More recently in 2014, the device was also cleared by the FDA to improve lines and wrinkles of the upper chest and neckline.
People were able to see results in a few months after treatment, without the risks associated with surgery. Several small clinical trials have found HIFU to be safe and effective for facial lifting and refining wrinkles.
Results have been particularly good in younger patients who don’t want the risks and recovery time associated with surgery. HIFU won’t work as well for people with severe cases of sagging skin, where thread lifts of plexr may be more appropriate.
A Facelift Without Surgery
If you’re looking for a treatment that is quick, painless, and noninvasive, HIFU is an excellent option compared to a surgical face lift. The procedure repeated in one to two years as the natural aging process takes over. If you’re a bit older with more skin sagging , HIFU may not be able to resolve all the skin issues.
