How Much Does HIFU Cost in the UK?
Contents
HIFU is one of the most searched non-surgical treatments in the UK, and one of the hardest to get a straight price on. Clinics quote per area, per session, per shot or per package, which makes comparing them almost impossible.
The short version
- Our HIFU prices in Newcastle: full face £1,095, face and neck £1,295, neck only £995, eyes and brow £895, double chin £995.
- One session is usually enough. Results build over two to three months and typically last 12 to 18 months.
- Cheap HIFU quotes usually mean fewer shots, a weaker machine or a less trained operator, which is where the price gap comes from.
- Your assessment is free.
Here is a plain answer on HIFU treatment prices, using our actual published prices at RT Aesthetics in Newcastle, plus what drives the number up or down anywhere you go, so you can compare any HIFU cost you have been quoted like for like. If you want our full list and a free assessment, that is on the HIFU Newcastle page.

Why HIFU prices vary so much between clinics
If you have been quoted £200 by one clinic and £1,500 by another for what sounds like the same thing, here is what is actually different.
The number of shots
This is the single biggest factor and the one most often hidden. HIFU is delivered in lines of ultrasound, counted in shots. A full face done properly uses several hundred. A clinic quoting a very low price is usually delivering a fraction of that, which is why the result disappoints.
Always ask how many shots are included. If the answer is vague, that tells you something.
The device
Medical grade platforms cost a clinic tens of thousands of pounds and are supported by clinical data and proper servicing. Cheap imported machines are widely available and look similar in photographs. They do not deliver the same depth or energy consistency, and some are not safe. We wrote about how to spot fake aesthetic devices because this is a genuine problem in the UK.
Who holds the handpiece
HIFU is delivered at fixed depths close to nerves and bone. Training and experience change both the safety and the result. A price that seems too good often reflects the qualification level of the person treating you.
How many areas
Face, neck, décolletage, eyes and the submental area under the chin are priced separately almost everywhere, because each takes time and shots. Bundling areas is usually cheaper than treating them one at a time later.
What HIFU costs compared with the alternatives
Cost only means something next to what else would achieve a similar result.
- A surgical facelift in the UK runs into several thousand pounds, with general anaesthetic, a real recovery period and time off work. HIFU is a fraction of that and you drive yourself home.
- Dermal filler is cheaper per appointment but replaces volume rather than tightening skin, and needs repeating more often. The two do different jobs.
- Radiofrequency such as Exilis is usually a course of four sessions at a similar total cost, spread over a month, with a gentler sensation. We compare them in our guide to Exilis or HIFU.
Per year of result, HIFU sits in the middle. It is not cheap, and it is not close to surgery.
Is HIFU worth the money?
Honestly, it depends on what is bothering you.
If you have early to moderate laxity along the jaw, under the chin or on the neck, and you want the skin lifted rather than filled, HIFU gives the strongest non-surgical result we can offer in one appointment. Most people are pleased they spent the money.
If your skin has lost a lot of elasticity, or there is significant excess skin, HIFU will improve the quality of it without repositioning it, and you may feel the money was wasted. We would tell you that at consultation rather than take the booking.
If your main concern is volume loss in the cheeks or under the eyes, HIFU is the wrong treatment and no amount of it will fix that.
Frequently asked questions
How much does HIFU cost in the UK?
Across UK clinics, a full face HIFU treatment on a medical grade device typically costs somewhere between several hundred and around two thousand pounds, with smaller single areas such as the eyes or chin costing less. The spread is wide because clinics differ in shot count, device quality and practitioner training rather than because the treatment itself differs. At our Newcastle clinic a full face is £1,095.
How long does HIFU last?
Most people see their result hold for around 12 to 18 months before they want a top up. The collagen your body builds after treatment is real and lasts, but ageing carries on underneath it, so the effect fades gradually rather than stopping on a given date. Age, skin quality, smoking and sun exposure all shorten it.
How many HIFU sessions do I need?
One. HIFU is designed as a single treatment, repeated annually rather than as a course. Some people with more laxity choose a second session around three months after the first to build on the result, which is why we price two-session packages, but nobody needs four or six sessions of HIFU. If a clinic is selling you a long course, ask why.
Does HIFU hurt?
You feel it. As each line of ultrasound is delivered there is heat and a deep prickling sensation, strongest over bony areas like the jaw and brow. It lasts a second at a time and stops the moment the applicator lifts. Most people describe it as very manageable and nobody needs an anaesthetic, but it is not a relaxing facial.
When will I see the results?
There is often a small immediate tightening that settles within a day or two. The real change is new collagen, which takes time: most people notice their result from around week six and see the full effect at about three months. Photographs taken on day one and at week twelve tell the story far better than a mirror does.
Is cheap HIFU safe?
Not always. Burns, nerve damage and fat loss in the treated area are the risks when energy is delivered at the wrong depth or by an untrained operator, and these are not always reversible. Price is a reasonable proxy for shot count, device quality and training. If a quote is far below everyone else, find out which of those three is being cut before you book.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. We offer 0% finance so the cost can be spread rather than paid up front. We will go through the options at your consultation with no pressure to take it.
