Ten questions people ask about Emerald Laser
1. What is Emerald Laser, in plain terms?
It is a low-level laser made by Erchonia. Ten green lasers at 532 nanometres shine onto the area for the length of the session. The light opens pores in the fat cell walls, the cells release their contents, and your lymphatic system clears it. Nothing is frozen, heated or sucked, and the cells are emptied rather than killed, which is why there is no soreness afterwards.
2. Does it hurt, and is there any downtime?
No and no. You feel nothing during the session, there is no redness or bruising afterwards, and you can go straight back to work or the gym. Most people describe it as lying down for half an hour with the lights on.
3. How many sessions do I need?
A course is ten sessions, usually two a week over five weeks, each one about 30 minutes. Fifteen sessions are available for a larger area or a bigger goal. Every session at our clinic includes a Body Ballancer lymphatic drainage suit treatment afterwards, because moving the released fat out of the tissue is what turns the laser into a result.
4. Who is it for?
Emerald is the treatment we use when fat freezing is the wrong tool. That means a wider area rather than one pocket, a higher BMI where the applicators cannot get a clean grip, and anyone who does not want the cold and the numbness that follow freezing. It has FDA market clearance for people with a BMI of up to 40, which no other laser fat-loss device has. It is not a weight loss treatment and we will not sell it as one, so diet and movement still do the heavy lifting.
5. How soon will I see a result?
Some people notice a change in the first two weeks, as the reviews above show. For most the result builds across the course and settles in the weeks after it ends, because the lymphatic system keeps clearing what the laser released. We measure you before the first session and at the end of the course, so the result is in inches on a tape measure rather than a feeling.
6. What results are realistic?
Published studies on the Emerald device report an average loss of around six inches of combined circumference across the waist, hips and thighs over a course. Our clients report anywhere from a few inches to considerably more, depending on their starting point and how closely they follow the aftercare. If your weight is climbing during the course, the laser cannot outrun it.
7. Which areas can be treated?
The stomach, waist and flanks are the most common. Thighs, upper arms, the back and the double chin all respond. Because the lasers cover an area rather than a single pocket, Emerald suits people whose fat is spread rather than gathered in one spot.
8. Is it safe?
Emerald is non-thermal, so there is no risk of burns, and non-invasive, so there is no risk of infection. The main things that rule it out are pregnancy, a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, active cancer, and certain medications that make the skin sensitive to light. 9. What does Emerald Laser cost?
A ten-session course is £2,500 for a body area, with Body Ballancer included in every session, and £1,850 for the double chin. Fifteen sessions are £3,150 for one area. Treating two areas at the same time is £4,500 for ten sessions or £5,550 for fifteen. 0% finance over 12 months is available on plans of £1,000 or more subject to a credit assessment, and we price match like-for-like clinic treatments. 10. Emerald Laser or fat freezing?
If you can pinch the fat, it sits in one or two pockets and your BMI is under about 30, fat freezing is usually cheaper and quicker. If the fat is a layer, the area is wide, your BMI is higher, or you simply want the gentlest option, Emerald is the better fit.
