BTL Emsella Chair Treatment
The BTL Emsella® Treatment
The pelvic floor muscles support the pelvic floor organs and control continence. However, natural body ageing, childbirth and menopause can cause this group of muscles to decondition, resulting in incontinence problems such as leaking urine when coughing or sneezing.
The BTL Emsella® treatment uses High-Intensity Focused ElectroMagnetic Energy (HIFEM) to stimulate and strengthen all the pelvic floor muscles, not just the subset that is targeted by Kegel exercises. These stronger pelvic floor muscles restore continence, eradicates urinary incontinence and the confidence to enjoy normal daily activities without fear of losing bladder control.
The Science Behind BTL Emsella®
The BTL Emsella® chair adopts a breakthrough technology called High-intensity Focused Electromagnetic Technology (HiFEM™). This non-invasive MRI technology induces supramaximal contraction of pelvic floor muscles without causing pain.
The Emsella® chair is a pelvic floor machine that creates intense contractions of muscles without your conscious control to strengthen and restore energy and tighten the bladder, urethra, and pelvic area muscles. It further gives you back control of the bladder and improves leaking or urinary incontinence. The strength and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles and urinary system will be significantly improved.
HIFEM™ Ultrasound Imaging
Clinical data shows that 28 minutes of HIFEM can induce 12,000 times supramaximal contraction of the pelvic floor muscles. It is the only patented technology in the world that can reach a 10cm depth of the pelvic floor muscles through a noninvasive procedure.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
If you are struggling with any of the following conditions linked with pelvic floor problems, then BTL Emsella® chair might be the perfect treatment course for you:
- Stress-related urinary incontinence caused by menopause or childbirth
- Urine leakage when laughing, coughing, sneezing or exercising
- Inability to control the bladder when feeling a sudden, intense urge to pee
- Intimate health conditions such as vaginal laxity decreased sexual satisfaction, and difficulty reaching orgasm
- For men, where infections, prostate cancer or stress have negatively impacted incontinence and/or intimate health.
- For women where body ageing, childbirth and menopause have led to incontinence due to weakened pelvic floor muscles.
The Procedure
Each session is 28-minutes as you sit comfortably on the Emsella® chair while it generates thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions. Each sitting is equivalent to doing 11,000 pelvic floor exercises without the hard work for improved bladder control!
The Emsella® chair procedure is non-invasive, and you remain fully clothed throughout. No drugs are required, and you will most likely feel a slight tingling sensation during the treatment. You can leave immediately after each session with no recovery time and resume normal daily activity.
The majority of people need a course of 6 sessions over 3 weeks to see optimum results. Most clients see and feel results after just 2 or 3 treatment sessions.

What Are The Pelvic Floor Muscles?
The pelvic floor muscle is one of the core muscles and spans the bottom of the pelvis. It supports the pelvic organs, including the intestines, uterus, vagina, bladder and urethra.
The pelvic floor muscle is the base of the entire pelvis – it stabilises and supports the lower back, spine and pelvis, together with adjacent core muscles. Any cause of damage to the pelvic floor muscles may result in pelvic floor dysfunction or reduced neuromuscular control.
Common causes of a weakened pelvic floor include:
- Ageing
- Pregnancy and childbirth
- Hip replacements
- Physical inactivity
- Prostate cancer treatment in males
- Obesity,
- Chronic constipation
- Chronic cough
- Heavy lifting
- Infections of the pelvic floor muscles, inflammation, injury, or overstretching may damage the muscle.
This pelvic floor machine is a breakthrough treatment that is highly effective for improving blood flow, pelvic floor strength, sexual function, and bladder control in both men and women.
