Treatment for Erectile Dysfunction
The Emsella® Chair represents a groundbreaking, non-surgical, and non-invasive solution for various forms of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. It’s an FDA-approved treatment addressing issues such as Urinary Incontinence, Sexual Health and Erectile Dysfunction.
This innovative device operates by deploying electromagnetic waves to induce contractions in the pelvic floor, thereby enhancing the strength and muscle tone of the pelvic muscles that might have become weak, damaged, or dysfunctional. The chair uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, causing deep pelvic floor muscle stimulation and restoration of neuromuscular control.
The pelvic floor muscles are crucial in sexual function, helping to support the penis, prostate, digestive organs, and rectum in men. These muscles play a significant role in male sexual function, including the process of achieving and maintaining erections.
Traditional treatment options for pelvic floor dysfunction can include surgery, medication, and pelvic floor exercises such as Kegels. The breakthrough of the Emsella® chair allows for non-invasive treatment, where you can stay fully clothed throughout, requires no medication, and one 30-minute treatment is equivalent to 11,000 Kegels. Early intervention can help to prevent the condition from worsening and can improve your overall quality of life.
Symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction may include difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection, urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, difficulty emptying the bladder or bowels, and a sensation of pressure or heaviness in the pelvic region. These symptoms can be embarrassing and uncomfortable, significantly impacting a person’s quality of life.
Recently, non-invasive Emsella® treatments have become increasingly popular as a safe and effective solution for pelvic floor dysfunction. EmSella utilises electromagnetic waves to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles, enhancing their strength and tone through induced contractions.

The Pelvic Floor & Erections
The pelvic floor muscles play a significant role in male sexual function, including the process of achieving and maintaining erections. These muscles are involved in the erectile process in the following ways:
Filling Phase – When a man becomes sexually aroused, the brain sends signals through the nervous system to relax the smooth muscles in the penis. This allows blood to flow into the two chambers known as the corpora cavernosa. The ischiocavernosus muscles, part of the pelvic floor muscle group, help maintain this increased blood pressure in the penis, enabling it to become erect.
Maintenance Phase – During an erection, the bulbocavernosus muscle, another pelvic floor muscle, contracts to prevent the outflow of blood from the penis, thereby helping to maintain the erection.
Ejaculation – During ejaculation, the bulbocavernosus muscle contracts rhythmically, helping to propel semen out of the urethra.
Therefore, a healthy, well-toned pelvic floor can contribute to better sexual performance, more reliable erections, and improved erectile function.
Common Symptoms of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Pelvic floor dysfunction can cause a variety of symptoms. Emsella® treatments can help increase the tone and strength of the pelvic floor, improving symptoms and quality of life. Pelvic floor dysfunction in men can result from various factors such as prostate issues, surgeries, nerve damage, and ageing, which can weaken or damage the pelvic floor muscles and tissues. Obesity, chronic constipation, and certain medical conditions can also contribute.
Common symptoms include:
- Urinary or faecal incontinence
- Erectile dysfunction
- Pelvic pain
- Difficulty emptying the bladder or bowels
- Sensation of pressure or heaviness in the pelvic region
These symptoms can be embarrassing, uncomfortable, and significantly impact quality of life.
What is an Emsella®?
Emsella® is a non-invasive medical device using high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate pelvic floor muscles. It is designed to enhance pelvic floor strength and treat urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction in both men and women. This innovative technology is gaining popularity as a safe and effective treatment for various pelvic floor disorders.
Emsella® delivers electromagnetic waves to the pelvic floor muscles, causing rapid contractions and relaxations similar to those during Kegel exercises but more intense and targeted. This electromagnetic stimulation improves the strength and tone of the pelvic floor muscles, enhancing urinary control, reducing urinary leakage, and improving erectile function.
