None of it is dramatic on its own, but together it changes how tired or heavy a face looks. Which area is the problem?
It's rarely the area you think. A weak chin often makes the jawline look soft, and flat cheeks are usually behind the folds that run from the nose to the mouth. So the first thing we do at your consultation is look at your face as a whole, from the front and in profile, before we suggest where any filler should go.
Cheek filler
Filler placed high on the cheekbone restores the lift that fades with age. It sharpens the mid face, softens nasolabial folds from above and gives a fresher, less tired look. Most clients need 1ml to 2ml across both sides.
Jawline filler
Filler along the jaw adds definition and a cleaner line from ear to chin. It's popular with men as well as women, and it works well alongside chin filler when the two are out of balance.
Chin filler
Chin harmonisation brings a receding or short chin forward so it sits in proportion with the nose and lips. It's one of the most effective single treatments for improving a side profile, and it often makes a double chin look less pronounced.

What treatment involves
After your consultation, treatment itself takes around 30 minutes. We clean the skin, apply numbing cream if needed and place the filler with a fine needle or a blunt cannula, depending on the area. The filler we use is hyaluronic acid based, the same substance your skin makes naturally, and most products contain a local anaesthetic so the treatment is comfortable.
You'll see the change straight away. Mild swelling or bruising can last a few days, and the final result settles within a couple of weeks. You can go back to work the same day. We ask you to avoid heavy exercise, alcohol and pressure on the treated area for 24 hours.
How long does it last?
Filler in the cheeks, jaw and chin lasts longer than in the lips because those areas move less. Most clients find results hold for 12 to 18 months, depending on the product, the amount used and how quickly your body breaks it down. There is more on this in how long chin filler lasts. If you ever want it gone sooner, hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with a prescribed enzyme.

Filler isn't always the answer
If the jawline has softened because the skin has loosened rather than because the bone structure needs support, filler can make the face look heavier. In that case we're more likely to suggest HIFU to tighten the skin, or a combination of the two. And if a double chin is mostly fat rather than a weak chin, double chin reduction with fat freezing or HIFU is usually the better route. We'd rather send you to the right treatment than the most expensive one.

Will jaw or chin filler look natural?
Yes, when it's placed in the right amount and the right spot. The aim is a balanced profile, not a new face. We build up gradually if you'd like more definition.
Does it hurt?
You'll feel pressure and the odd pinch. The numbing cream and the anaesthetic inside the filler take the edge off, and most people are surprised how manageable it is.
Can I have cheek and chin filler on the same day?
Usually, yes. Treating them together often gives a better overall result because the areas balance each other.
Can men have jawline filler?
Yes. Plenty of men have jawline filler for a stronger, squarer jaw, and the approach is the same.
Is there anyone who shouldn't have filler?
We don't treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, or has an active skin infection in the area. Your consultation covers the rest of your medical history.
