The fat freezing procedure involves controlled cooling within the temperature range of below – 9°C. During your Cryolipolysis treatment, a cooling gel pad is placed on the target areas. The vacuum applicator draws in the stubborn fat as the aesthetic practitioner talks you through step by step what is happening. The temperature inside the applicator drops, and as it does so, the area becomes numb. Clients sometimes experience discomfort from the vacuum’s pull on their tissue, although this resolves within minutes, once the area becomes numb.

The effects of the Cryolipolysis procedure were discovered by scientists who found that cooling temperatures would cause fat cells to die. They identified that when children ate ice lollies they were developing dimples in their cheeks from fat loss.
