OUR CARE

In order to achieve optimum results from your Radio Frequency treatment, we strongly recommend the following:

  • Increasing water intake
  • Increase water intake by at least 1.5 litres
  • Avoid any facial peels 4 weeks before treatment and microdermabrasion 2 weeks before treatment
  • Avoid any exfoliation or chemical peels for 7 days prior to your treatment
  • Avoid alcohol consumption for minimal of 48 hours prior to your appointment
  • Allow 2 weeks before IPL treatments in the area that you wish to have treated
  • Avoid sun-beds or direct UV exposure for a minimal of 1 week prior to your appointment
  • Avoid any active skin care, for example, AHA’s and BHA, any exfoliating products 5 days pre and post treatment

In order to achieve optimum results from your Radio Frequency treatment, we strongly recommend the following:

  • Drink 2 – 3 litres of water daily, keep a large bottle with you at all times and infuse with lemons and limes for flavour
  • This will flush out the crystallised lipids (dead fat cells) out of your body through the lymphatic system
  • Follow the diet plan we issue and reduce your intake of alcohol and carbohydrates
  • Reduce your intake of caffeine to no more than 1 cup a day
  • Exercise vigorously after treatment to help stimulate lymphatic drainage (the body’s process of the removal of fat)
  • Regular body brushing at home, this is a great way to stimulate the lymphatic system to naturally eliminate the fat cells
  • Avoid hot baths or showers, steam or heat treatments for 24 hours
  • Avoid alcohol for 48 – 72 hours

If you have any of the following health conditions you can NOT have Radio Frequency:

  • Liver or kidney problems
  • Heart or lung conditions
  • Persons with metal plates or joint implants (in the treatment area)
  • Sites of prior cosmetic surgery (area specific only)
  • Pregnancy & immediately following birth (3 months’ natural birth, 12 months C-Section)
  • Thrombosis, or taking an anticoagulant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Epilepsy
  • Cancer
  • High cholesterol
  • Hypoproteinemia or hyperproteinemia (high or low levels of protein in the blood)
  • Sufferers of physiological hypotonic (lacking in muscle tone/muscle or tissue wastage)
  • Cardiovascular or cerebral diseases (issues with blood flow to heart or brain)
  • Immune system disease (including AIDS or HIV) or Urticaria
  • Raynaud’s disease or other vasoconstrictive disorders
  • Umbilical hernias, hernias or weak stomach muscle walls (past or present – abdominal treatments only)
  • Severe diabetes, elderly infirm or young children
  • Post invasive surgery (in the treatment area – wait at least 12 months and avoid any scar)
  • Artificial implants and/or bone (in the treatment area)

If you have any of the following health conditions, you will need a letter of consent from your GP or medical practitioner:

  • Scarring history, fibrosis or seborrhoea
  • Hyper or Hypotension (High or Low Blood Pressure)
  • Severe skin disorders
  • Under 18
  • Haemophiliacs or hemorrhagic disorders
  • Certain immune disorders
  • Persons who have donated or received organ transplants
  • After recovery from cancer, must have been off medication for 12 months and have GP approval prior to treatment
  • You will first meet with your Aesthetic Practitioner who will go through the procedure in detail, this will include a medical history screening via the form sent to the client before the procedure. 
  • Once the collagen gel has been applied to the area the device will begin in back and forth motions and then circular movements.
  • The applicator will transmit Radio Frequency waves to the desired areas (cheeks, jawline, cheekbone and forehead)
  • Clients do find the treatment very relaxing as the feeling of warmth on the face throughout the procedure
  • You will then have a collagen mask applied to your face which will feel slightly cold but very satisfying and relaxing and then the red light therapy which lasts for 20 minutes, which promotes healing of the skin, collagen production then settles the skin
  • It has been proven to increase collagen production by up to 35%
  • You will then receive an RTOrganics mini facial which includes a clarifying face wash, eye cream, face serum and vitamin ACE moisturiser
  • Accelerate the results at home with our aftercare serum and apply at least twice a day for 3 – 6 months post-treatment
  • The aftercare serum aids in the production, repair and renewal of collagen and has the added benefit of making your skin feel great
  • You will be given aftercare advice on the day of your treatment and this will also be sent to you via email for you to refer back to

  • Radio Frequency Results

    You get an immediate tightening of the collagen fibres, so it’s great to do before an event, but it also gives a long-lasting lift and increased volume. It also continues to promote collagen production over the 6 – 12 weeks following a treatment.

  • What Are Radio Frequency Side Effects?

    Radio Frequency treatment is completely safe with very limited side-effect. Some clients may experience redness around the the treatment area, although this passes within 1 – 2 hours after the treatment. Radio Frequency is completely safe and does not affect the blood vessels, nerves or connective tissue under the skin. The most frequently reported side effects of treatment with Radio Frequency energy are swelling, redness, bumps on or around the treated area, which typically disappear in a few days or weeks.

  • Which Treatment Is Better, MED: HIFU Ultra Or Radio Frequency?

    ​​MED: HIFU Ultra in short is better for tightening and lifting the face area. However, at RT Aesthetics we recommend that every client has a face-to-face consultation to discuss the problem area in detail and what results their wanting to achieve. Every client is different and therefore the best way to understand what treatment would be best suited for you is to meet with you face-to-face. We don’t believe in charging a client for a MED: HIFU Ultra treatment if they don’t need it and only need a Radio Frequency Facial procedure. HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound and is the latest non-surgical, clinically proven technology, for lifting and tightening the face, neck and décolletage.
