Laser Hair Removal in Newcastle Upon Tyne
When it comes to those big nights out, romantic nights in, and summer holidays on the beach, we all find ourselves dreaming about perfectly soft, smooth, and hair-free skin.
While the beauty market is full of methods for removing hair, from epilators to wax to an extortionate assortment of razors, finding something a little more permanent is becoming increasingly popular; leading to the rise of laser hair removal as an easy, pain-free and affordable solution.
How does laser hair removal work?
The concept of laser hair removal is simple enough – using a concentrated beam of light to heat the follicle of individual hairs; damaging them to inhibit and prevent future hair growth.
Hair caught by the laser during its growth stage will not tend to grow again after the laser hair removal procedure. Follicles that are not actively growing at the time of treatment may still produce new hair, meaning that these follicles will need to be targeted in their growth stage during your next treatment. Therefore, it is recommended that clients have a course of 6 – 8 treatments.
Suitable for use by both men and women, the research and growth of the laser hair removal industry has grown hugely over the past few years, with Newcastle-upon-Tyne alone boasting between 5 and 10 different clinics all offering the pain-free and effective treatment to locals and visitors.
Why choose RTAesthetics?
Here at RTAesthetics, our commitment to customer care carries through from pre-treatment, all the way through to the treatment itself and beyond. Every appointment is preceded by a consultation, where the clinician will discuss with you the details of the treatment – including the number of sessions you will need, any complications that you need to be aware of, and what you can expect in terms of short term and long term results.
A patch test will then be completed in each area in which you require treatment – to ensure that your skin and hair is suitable for laser hair removal. After 48 hours your clinician will get in touch with you to ascertain the results of the patch test, before proceeding to book the full treatment with you.
Laser hair removal at RTAesthetics spans across between 6-8 treatment sessions, with each procedure lasting between 15 and 30 minutes. We expect the results of one session to last up to 6 weeks before the next treatment will need to be booked.
We use the 3 Wavelength laser hair removal system for optimum results, which allows us to provide permanent hair removal for all skin types – something which is not always guaranteed across other systems and laser types. This 3 Wavelength laser simultaneously delivers 3 different laser wavelengths to ensure that no hair escapes the laser beam and is ideal for sensitive areas. Not only are the results quick and effective, but they also provide the most comfortable laser hair removal experience thanks to the cooling technology built into the machine.

Side effects of laser hair removal
Though we do our best to minimise the risk of any side effects and to provide the smoothest experience possible, all clients and individuals are different – with everyone’s skin reacting in different ways.
The patch test which we complete on each treatment area should provide forewarning of any adverse reaction, though we do advise clients that their skin may appear red for a few hours after the treatment as the skin reacts and cools down after the laser treatment.
Skin reactions can also occur if alcohol and pain medication has been consumed prior to treatment – as such, we suggest steering away from all of these substances for 48 hours before treatment. Perfumes, creams and other sprays can also irritate skin, and should be avoided for up to a week following treatment.
Other potential side effects include:
These should all die down of their own accord quickly.
