Results From Fat Freezing

With exercise a pretty time consuming way to lose stubborn pounds, the latest celebrity trend of cosmetic treatment is to simply freeze your fat away – but that would be dangerous and leave you with a stomach like a frozen chicken right?

The short answer to this questions is no, this is not the case. We’re going to discuss the top 10 must know things about the fat freezing and how to lose that stubborn fat using cooling technology – now thats cool.

Can You Really Freeze The Fat Off?

Cryogenic lipolysis is the scientific term for simple process of switching off fat cells. The technical name for fat freezing is cryolipolysis (cryogenic lipolysis) and was first introduced by Coolsculpting in the United States. Fat freezing cools fat cells down to a temperature initiating the apoptosis process, the process where fat cells die and are later removed by the body over the 6 – 12 week period.

fat freezing near you

Apoptosis is the fancy name for the end of a cell’s life cycle and a process supposedly sped up by fat freezing treatment through targeting your problem fatty areas with controlled cooling. The procedure is quick, easy and safe and has been FDA approved for its therapeutic effects.

So in simple terms, fat freezing kills the fat cell and disposes of the dead fat cells over the 6 – 12 week period through the lymphatic system (the body’s waste mechanism) – urinating them out of the body by drinking lots of water. The body is very effective at removing dead cells and breaks them down after the fat freezing procedure.

Pee Away Fat Cells

Yes! You really do pee away fat cells after your treatment and they also come out in your sweat and you breath them out too. Peeing, pooping, sweating and breathing is all part of the natural process of removing waste from the body. The same way a blood cell or virus is disposed of by white blood cells through the lymphatic system, fat cells that are killed by the fat freezing treatment are disposed of in the same way.

Although the fat cells are destroyed during the fat freezing procedure, there is no permanent damage to the surrounding skin, it’s just a way of speeding up what is a natural process. You wont actually see or feel fat in the toilet bowl.

Is Fat Freezing Very Cold?

Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than water, so there’s no hiding from the fact that whichever area you’re targeting with the treatment, it’s going to feel a little cold. Fat freezing freeze fat to below – 6 degrees and destroys the fat cells by the process of apoptosis.

Liposuction Newcastle

There are a few myths about how cold the fat cells need to be for the process to work effectively. The temperatures we use at RT Aesthetics are obviously low and it isn’t something people should try at home with a bag of ice cubes. Don’t worry about feeling cold, the temperatures we use are comfortable and targeted so you wont feel cold all over. Many people think that for this process to work, the colder, the better, but that simply isn’t the case and this can be dangerous.

RT Aesthetics clinicians are fully trained and we use very-modern 360 fat freezing equipment including protective membranes to shield the skin. That’s why it is important to only visit an expert in the treatment.

Fat Freezing Results

One of the most frequently asked questions patients ask about Fat Freezing is: What results will I get from fat freezing? Like many cosmetic treatments, results vary from person to person, there is no immediate impact from the fat freezing procedure. So we thought we would give you the low down on what to expect and how you can support the results you achieve after your procedure.

Cryolipolysis is an effective, non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for the reduction of stubborn body fat. It is ideal for treating pockets or bulges of soft or hard, squeezable body fat. These are our typical areas we love to hate such as belly fat, muffin tops, man boobs, love handles and overall cellulite.

love handle treatments, RT Aesthetics, Newcastle

Some people notice the beginnings of changes within a couple of weeks after the procedure, although typically it can take up to around 12 weeks to see the full extent of the treatment, depending on your a individual response to the treatment. The treatment however does not require a course of sessions, although some people wanting to rid a large amount of stubborn fat may wish to have a second session 12 weeks later.

You could achieve a visible reduction of the pocket or bulge of fat following a fat freeze treatment and RT Aesthetics invites all our clients back for a post treatment review at 6 weeks and 12 weeks. At this point we will compare your before and after photos to highlight the results achieved and take any measurements needed.

Side Effects From Fat Freezing

One of the main benefits of having a fat freezing procedure is that the side effects are very minimal and only include pinkness that lasts up to an hour after the treatment or minimal bruising. There is no down time after the treatment and patients can carry on with their regular life immediately after leaving the clinic – they can drive home, go to work or even the gym.

Lose Skin Treatment Newcastle , Stubborn fat newcastle uk

Compare this with liposuction, where swelling and bruising can last for months, this is a real bonus. There is also no risks of infections and serve complications that can happen with liposuction. On some occasions the 360 fat freezing applicator may leave a small, temporary pressure mark, but examples of bruising are pretty much eradicated by the new technology we use at RT Aesthetics.

Sagging Skin After Fat Freezing – A Myth

Pinkness is usually the only effect the treatment has on the skin as, only fat cells are targeted by the treatment. Fat cells are effected by the fat freezing treatment but the skin is not effected. Skin is very elastic, and is able to accommodate changes like this, so it doesn’t leave a saggy pocket.

Where there is already loose skin, it can help make the area appear smaller as the fat layer underneath has been reduced, but it doesn’t actually tighten the skin. However, there are treatments such as HIFU and Radio Frequency that can help with this problem.

Its always best to book a face to face consultation with the clinic to ensure your needs are fully assessed by an advance aesthetic practitioner and your happy with the procedure and outcomes. Its important to always go to a aesthetic clinic and not to a beauty salon as they are not specialists in this area.

Who Is Fat Freezing For?

Fat freezing isn’t just for the ‘normal’ stereotypes, a 76-year-old man has had the fat freezing treatment procedure. 8 Ways to Get a More Defined Jawline

Get a More Defined Jawline

Whether you recently noticed fullness in your neck or you have always wanted a more attractive jawline, you do not have to live with a double chin forever.

You first noticed it in your vacation photos. In otherwise beautiful snapshots of your family on the beach, all you could focus on was the fullness around your neck. There is no doubt about it; you have a double chin. Unfortunately, excess fat accumulation, weakened facial muscles, and loose skin below the jawline are all part of the natural ageing process.

“We have a layer of thick connective tissue called platysma which acts almost like saran wrap holding everything in place,” says Dr. Julie Russak, a board certified dermatologist and founder of Russak Dermatology Clinic in New York City. “As we lose collagen in the platysma, everything starts to sag by the power of gravity. The fat pads that remain push down on the platysma causing fullness and loss of definition.”

For some, a double chin is unavoidable at a young age due to genetic factors. And, excess tissue below the jawline can remain even after weight loss. “For those who work out and even lose weight, the frustration due to the appearance of fat is misconstrued,” says Dr. Russak. “Skin elasticity loss and skin looseness are what give the appearance of fat below the chin.” For these individuals, “tightening the skin is really the answer to a more defined jawline.”

Whether you recently noticed fullness in your neck or you have always wanted a more attractive jawline, you do not have to live with a double chin forever. There are many skin-tightening and fat reduction treatments available to help sculpt your neck and create the youthful, chiseled jawline you desire. Here are 8 ways to get a more defined jawline from non-invasive treatments to surgical procedures.

KYBELLA® is a non-invasive treatment for reducing fat beneath the chin. Each treatment lasts between 15 and 20 minutes and involves a series of quick injections. The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps break down fat tissue. When the synthetic deoxycholic acid is injected into the fat beneath the skin, it immediately starts working to destroy fat cells. Once destroyed, the cells can no longer store fat. The result is a noticeable reduction in fullness below the chin and a more defined jawline.

The number of injections required depends on the individual, though a majority of KYBELLA® patients require three-six treatments for the best results. In clinical studies, 79% of KYBELLA® subjects were satisfied with the appearance of the area beneath their chin 12 weeks after their final treatment. The fat reduction results of KYBELLA® are permanent.

2. CoolMini™

If you struggle with stubborn fat below your chin despite eating healthy and exercising, you can now treat the area with CoolMini™. The CoolMini™ procedure is similar to its predecessor, CoolSculpting, which uses vacuum suction and controlled cooling to freeze targeted fat and sculpt a more defined jawline.

To begin, your provider will place the small, curved applicator to the area below your chin. Two cooling plates on the CoolMini™ applicator cool the skin and safely freeze the underlying fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Over the next few weeks, your body will naturally eliminate the destroyed fat cells to reveal a sculpted, defined jawline. Most individuals see a noticeable reduction in fullness and a more chiseled jawline after one CoolMini™ treatment. However, the final results become apparent after three to four months. As with KYBELLA®, the results of CoolMini™ are long-lasting. “We are permanently killing fat cells we do not reproduce,” says Dr. Russak.

3. Sculptra®

There are several reasons loose skin develops along the jawline. Age, genetics, sun exposure, gravity, and weight loss all contribute to the appearance of a double chin or “turkey neck.” Sculptra® is one of several dermal fillers that can help reduce the appearance of sagging skin below the jawline by rebuilding lost volume in the face. While most facial fillers use hyaluronic acid to temporarily fill in sunken areas of the face, Sculptra® gets to the root of the problem. It uses poly-L-lactic acid, which works with your body to help rebuild lost collagen for a more youthful look. When Sculptra® is injected on top of the jawline, collagen production is stimulated in the cheeks, which subtly lifts the skin in the lower face. Clinical trials show the results of Sculptra® can last up to two years.

Patients with mildly loose skin in the lower face are the best candidates for Sculptra®. Those with severe sagging below the jawline due to ageing or major weight loss will see optimal results with neck lift surgery.

4. ThermiTight®

ThermiTight® is a minimally invasive alternative to facelift and neck lift surgery. It uses radiofrequency energy to heat the deep tissues of the lower face and neck, resulting in tighter skin and a more defined jawline.

During a ThermiTight® application, your provider will inject aesthetic to numb the treatment area. Then, a tiny probe will be inserted under the skin to deliver heat directly to the tissue. As the radiofrequency energy is applied, it will melt fat cells on contact and cause controlled damage to the skin. This triggers your body to begin making new collagen, which, over time, tightens the skin in the neck for a more youthful, sculpted look.

Most ThermiTight® patients see results 30 days after the procedure, but the full effects of the treatment are apparent after three months. Best of all, ThermiTight® only requires one treatment. ThermiTight® is often used with the CoolMini™ procedure to reduce excess fat and tighten the skin on the neck without surgery.

5. PDO thread lift

A PDO Thread Lift is another minimally invasive treatment for those embarrassed by a double chin and/or sagging skin. The treatment uses tiny threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) to instantly lift the skin and create a defined jawline while promoting cellular renewal.

The procedure is performed by inserting the PDO threads through blunt-tipped needles beneath the surface of the skin. Once placed, the threads lift the skin of the lower face upwards and the excess threads are cut off. Prior to the procedure, your provider will numb your skin and apply local aesthetic to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

After six months your body will naturally absorb the PDO threads. This is when the lift is at its peak due to new collagen growth around the threads. The results of a PDO Thread Lift can last between two and three years.

6. Buccal fat pad reduction

A buccal fat pad reduction removes fat in the cheeks to contour the lower face. “We make a little incision inside the mouth and pull out some of the fat in the lower cheek that gives the appearance of jowls,” says Dr. Jason Emer, a board certified dermatologic surgeon in West Hollywood. “With one stitch we close it up. It only takes 20 minutes in our office. There is no anesthesia and minimal downtime.” Dr. Emer commonly performs this procedure on models to give them a hollow, chiseled look in the lower face. “Even though there is a small incision, it is considered very non-invasive,” Dr. Emer explains.

7. Liposuction

If you feel like you have excess fat below your chin despite being a healthy weight, liposuction can offer incredible results. It is important to know that liposuction alone may not improve sagging skin. Therefore, the procedure is best suited to younger patients with good skin elasticity.

Liposuction is an invasive, though fairly straightforward procedure and can often be performed under local anesthesia. To perform the procedure, your provider will make one or two tiny incisions beneath the chin or behind the ears where a small cannula will be inserted. Your doctor will create small motions with the cannula to suction excess fat from below the chin and sculpt a defined jawline. “Now the liposuction we do is more than just removal of the fat,” says Dr. Emer. “We are internally heating the skin at the same time to promote tightening.”

After liposuction you will be instructed to wear a chinstrap for three to four days. Most patients can return to work within a week and resume their normal activities after two weeks.

8. Neck lift surgery

Neck lift surgery is the most invasive solution for treating sagging skin below the jawline. The term encompasses two procedures: cervicoplasty, which is the removal of excess skin, and platysmaplasty, which involves tightening the neck muscles. Surgeons can perform one or both of these procedures to restore a smooth, firm neck and defined jawline.

While invasive, neck lift surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis. Your doctor will use general anesthesia or intravenous IV sedation before making a small incision behind each ear and underneath the chin. Through these incisions the surgeon will smooth wrinkles and creases in the neck, tighten the neck muscles, and remove excess skin.

Bruising and swelling are typical following neck lift surgery, but most patients are back to their normal routines within two weeks. Neck lift surgery is often performed along with liposuction to remove excess fat and skin from the neck and sculpt a firm, youthful appearance.

What about facial exercises? Do they actually work?

You have probably heard that performing facial exercises can sculpt a more chiseled jawline. Is there any truth to this notion? And can chewing gum help contour the jaw muscles? According to Dr. Emer, “all facial exercises do is potentially make the skin looser and make it look like you have more muscular jawline, which can make you look bulky.”

If you want to try facial exercises before considering the treatment options above, here are a couple to get you started.

Tongue twister: The tongue twister targets the muscles under your chin. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth just behind your front teeth. Then press your entire tongue against the top of your mouth to create tension. Hum and make a vibrating noise to activate the muscles in your neck and lower jaw; complete three sets of 15.

Neck curl ups: Another facial exercise you can try to create a more chiseled jawline is a neck curl up. Lying on your back, press your tongue to the roof of your mouth to activate your neck muscles. Then bring your chin to your chest and lift your head off the ground slightly; complete three sets of 10 repetitions. This facial exercise will strengthen and tone the muscles of the neck, which can help prevent drooping.

If you feel any pain performing facial exercises stop right away, as improper form may result in injury. You do not have to live with a double chin forever. If you are embarrassed by a double chin or sagging skin around your neck, there are many treatment options available for restoring a smooth, firm, defined jawline. “I always tell my patients that the most natural results are achieved by a combination of procedures, and not just by one,” says Dr. Russak. “Paying special attention early on and what you do at home is equally as important to prevent and then effectively treat a double chin.” Establish a skin care routine, consider the non-invasive and surgical options above, and talk to your doctor about the right solution for you.

HIFU Facial Treatment

HIFU newcastle

HIFU Facial Treatment Newcastle

HIFU facial treatment (high intensity focus ultrasound) is a new beauty and media treatment that is being hailed as a revolutionary alternative to a cosmetic face lift. However, can a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment with absolutely no downtime deliver on its promises and give you the results your looking for? Are you looking to treat sagging or excess skin, jowls or a double chin? HIFU may be the answer to your problems and look to turn back the ageing clock. RT Aesthetics Newcastle is the only clinic in the North of England to offer 3D HIFU facial treatments.

As you are reading this you may be doing your background research on HIFU and may no little to nothing about the technology and how it can help you, we’re here to help you. As you may already know, HIFU stands for high intensity focus ultrasound that aims to tighten the skin and promote new collagen production. The treatment lasts at least three hours, which is not a sacrifice when the results promise to take years (four to eight) off your face.

How Does HIFU Work?

As with many non-surgical, non-invasive treatments, you may be thinking can it really work or will I just be wasting my hard earned cashed. The science and research is key to understand how the procedure works and what benefits you can expect from the HIFU facial treatment. The technical stuff can sound a bit complicated, however we are going to make it clear and straight forward to understand.

The 3D HIFU machine delivers high intensity ultrasound energy deep into the facial tissues and the SMAS layer (muscles), which is the same layer tightened during a conventional surgical face lift. It is within these deep and sub dermal layers where the focused ultrasound energy results in micro trauma resulting in a natural body response. As the tissue heals over the 6 – 12 weeks it contracts, tightens and stimulates new collagen production. Collagen is what keeps your skin youthful. It’s the substructure upon which the skin relies on, but as we age the collagen production naturally slows, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles, jowls, eye bags and less elasticity in the skin – all the typical signs of ageing.

RT Aesthetics HIFU - High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

Stimulating new collagen is very difficult and many look for anti-ageing creams and serums to help promote new collagen. For many clients this does not work as the serum does not get deep enough into the skin layers to stimuli new collagen. Following a HIFU treatment, as the collagen fibres recover, they shorten resulting in a tightening effect on the skin – giving you the youthful results you’ve been waiting for its that simple.

HIFU Facial Consultation & Treatment

During the face to face consultation the aesthetic practitioner will assess your skin, problem area and ask questions regarding your lifestyle and medical history to build a treatment plan based. The treatment plan will consists of this information and your goals and expectations from the treatment. The practitioner will then take before photos so that they can track your progress throughout the procedure.

The procedure begins with the aesthetic practitioner drawing guidelines on your face marking the areas needing to be targeted during the treatment and this includes the forehead frown lines, crows feet, jowls, cheeks, chin, neck and the décolletage. A hand-held 3D HIFU applicator is then slowly moved repeatedly (using 3 cartridges) across those areas marked up beforehand starting with the neck and chin and slowly working up towards the face towards the forehead and eye area. Towards the end of the treatment the aesthetic practitioner will use a more precise applicator around the brow, under eyes and crows feet.

Although most clients find the treatment pain-free, some clients feel mild discomfort near the bone and chin area as the energy is felt in the bone and teeth area the most. As the results are proven to be very effective its to deal with for the results. As many people say – no pain no gain. The treatment can take up to three hours and towards the end the aesthetic practitioner will offer you some water, take some photos and show you the progress you’ve made within this treatment on the same day.

HIFU takes 6 – 12 weeks to fully work, however many clients see around 20% results on the same day. Most clients experience tighter skin and more texture on the same day with further results to develop over the coming weeks. The effects from HIFU can last a year and there is no need for more than one treatment per year.

Fat Reduction

360 Handle - Fat Freeze Newcastle - RT Aesthetics

Fat Reduction With Fat Freezing

Fat reduction procedures are becoming increasingly popular in both the beauty and medical industry as more patients are looking to rid stubborn fat. Coolsculpting, also commonly known as fat freezing involves controlled cooling to the area of the body that patients suffer from stubborn fat. The skin and other parts of the body are not affected at these temperatures and only fat cells die naturally. This process is known as apoptosis, natural cell death.

Many patients are looking to rid stubborn fat but do not want to have risky liposuction or long downtime. Fat freezing is both quick and safe with most procedures only taking 60 – 90 minutes. Fat freezing works great alongside a good diet, however, fat freezing is not a weight loss treatment and is designed to rid stubborn fat.

What Is Fat Freezing?

One of the most common questions asked is, what is fat freezing and does it work? Fat freezing is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure for patients suffering from excess or stubborn fat that doesn’t go away with diet and exercise. Fat freezing has become popular as it doesn’t come with the associated risk of both surgery and liposuction. Fat freezing has been featured in both documentaries on tv, such as channel 4, BBC, ITV and Netflix. Vogue news have also wrote an article on the great benefits of fat freezing and great success.

CoolSculpting, the first company to offer and design fat freezing technology, was first approved by the FDA in 2010, and gained attention when it was rebranded from minor spot treatment to a non-invasive and non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Fat freezing promised to eviscerate love handles, bra bulge or stomach fat with cooling applicators. This non-surgical fat reduction technology has now been cleared to tackle loose skin under the chin, a smaller area that is more difficult to treat through natural means, such as diet and exercise. Patients can now banish a double chin without the need for surgery, injections or double chin liposuction.

How Does Fat Freezing Work?

Fat freezing (cryolipolysis) procedures use specialised 360 applicators in one of six sizes to apply suction to the skin which sicks the fat inside. While your lying back on a massage bed for 60 – 90 minutes, 360 cooling plates begin to freeze the fat to below -7 to crystallise the fat cells. Some patients feel a mild discomfort, although this is very tolerable and only last 5 minutes or so as the 360 applicators begin to cool to the desired temperature. Click here to read more.

Liposuction Newcastle , Fat Freezing Newcastle, Fat Freezing Near Me

As the applicators reach the desired temperature to destroy’s the fat cells, the area becomes very numb and you no longer feel anything throughout the treatment. In fact, the procedural setting is so relaxed that patients can bring laptops to do work, enjoy a movie on Netflix, or simply nap while the machine goes to work. Now thats cool!

Who Is Fat Freezing For?

Fat freezing is for patients who are looking for mild – moderate improvements as its not designed for one-stop-shop major fat removal like liposuction. That said, many patients that have cryolipolysis can expect to lose 25 – 40% of fat per treatment session. When you attend a face to face consultation the aesthetic practitioner will consider many factors including, age, skin quality, amount of fat and lifestyle factors.

Face to face consultation

During the consultation the practitioner will offer advice on issues or problems within your lifestyle that needs changing and will send you a diet plan to follow throughout the course of treatment. RT Aesthetics believe that aftercare is the most important part of treatment, thats why all our treatments come with free follow up appointments and phone support. For more information or to book an appointment please contact us.

Is Fat Freezing Permanent?

In short, yes fat freezing is permanent. Once the fat cells have been destroyed, they are gradually broken down and removed from the body by the liver. Fat freezing technology is a great non-surgical, non-invasive fat reduction solution, however, you do need to control your diet, lifestyle and weight after treatment. If you gain weight, it will go somewhere on the body and this may not be the area you had treated. Lasting improvements to your body can also occur by changing your lifestyle choices, diet and exercise. A little bit of this is on you: if you’re going to do 3 fat freezing cycles and not change your diet and eating habits at all is not going to change at all.

Fat Freezing VS Weight Loss

Fat freezing is a body sculpting treatment and therefore photos are taken to show you the fat reduction you achieve. Fat does not weigh as much as muscle, therefore fat freezing won’t make you lose lots of weight.  When you’re shedding 25 percent of fat in a handful of tissue, it won’t add up to much on the scale but the photos will show of your great results. Although you may not see a benefit on the scale when you lose the fat cells around your stomach, bra fat, or double chin it counts. However, you should still control your weight and maintain a healthy diet with plenty of exercise after the procedure.

Is Fat Freezing Safe?

Fat freezing is a non-invasive procedure and therefore the risks, comparatively speaking, are very low. Contour irregularities can occur the same way they might in liposuction, this may mean you need treatment on the area that has not reduce in fat, for example, if you got the love handles done the stomach may stick out. While the fat freezing machine leaves less room for human error in terms of fat removal and reduction, it also has its limitations in terms of fine-tuning removal the way an artful plastic surgeon might by hand. Common side effects include, redness, bruising or tenderness that settles down between 3 – 5 days. Wounds will not occur from fat freezing, and swelling is very minimal. Further risks will be discussed with your aesthetic practitioner.

Non Surgical Liposuction

Liposuction Newcastle

Does Non Surgical Liposuction Work?

Cryolipolysis, also known as cool sculpting, 3D lipo and fat freezing, freezes fat to below – 5 to destroy stubborn fat cells naturally. Fat freezing is non surgical and non invasive with little to no downtime. It is a revolutionary treatment that reduces the number of fat cells in a specific target area on the body, without the need for surgery, needles. Fat freezing procedures have become both popular and highly effective non-invasive alternative to liposuction in the UK.

Before fat freezing, the removal of stubborn fat (fat cells that is resistant to dieting or exercise), was only possible with invasive surgery. Although traditional liposuction is effective way to remove fat cells, there are many risk associated such as, infection and an invasive cosmetic surgery procedure that takes place in an operating room. Liposuction will involve having anaesthetic and a surgeon making incisions to allow a cannula to be inserted under the skin to break up and suck the fat from various parts of the body. Traditional liposuction has considerable downtime following the surgical procedure, requiring time of work and many needing to wear a compression garment.

Fat freezing is a non-invasive, non-surgical, clinically proven method of targeting fat in problem areas using cooling technology. The procedure has been passed as safe by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). It works by cooling unwanted fat cells in the body which kills some of the fat cells by a natural process known as apoptosis. The surrounding tissues are unaffected and unharmed.

Liposuction Surgery Procedure

Liposuction is the removal of excess body fat by suction using special surgical equipment. A plastic surgeon typically does the surgery. Liposuction is a type of cosmetic surgery. It removes unwanted excess fat to improve body appearance and to smooth irregular body shapes. The procedure is sometimes called body contouring.

Liposuction Newcastle

Liposuction may be useful for contouring under the chin, neck, cheeks, upper arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and ankle areas. Liposuction is a surgical procedure with risks, and it may involve a painful recovery. Liposuction can have serious or rare fatal complications. So, you should carefully think about your decision to have this surgery.

Liposuction is an invasive cosmetic surgery procedure that takes place in an operating room. It will involve being anaesthetised and a having a surgeon making incisions to allow a cannula to be inserted under the skin to break up and suck the fat from various parts of the body. Liposuction involves all the risks of surgery, but the benefits are quicker to be seen and more dramatic.

Although traditional liposuction is effective, there is considerable downtime following the surgical procedure and as with any invasive treatment, there are risks of infection and complications. Liposuction is considerably more expensive than non-surgical alternatives that are available today, such as ultrasound cavitation and fat freezing. Although fat freezing is a relatively new procedure, it is rapidly becoming the “go to” treatment for those who need to tackle stubborn areas of fat.

Is Eyelid Surgery Right for Me?

Eye Bag and Hooded Eyes Treatments - RT Aesthetics - Newcastle

How would I know if eyelid surgery is the right choice?

Tired of spending money on eye creams and serums that make no difference? You may be considering blepharoplasty, or commonly referred to as eyelid surgery to restore beauty, youth or to prevent the early onset of age to your eyes and face, you may be wondering which procedure is right for you. Eyelid surgery are rejuvenation procedures often sought out by individuals who want to get rid of wrinkles, sagging eyebrows, eye bags, hooded eyes or the dreaded dark circles underneath the eyes. Before choosing to undergo this surgical procedure, it important to understand what is required to have eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty), including, benefits and drawbacks of surgery and the alternatives to this procedure.

What Is Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery

Puffy upper eyelids can not only make someone look tired, but also interfere with their eyesight. In some cases, skin from the upper eyelids can hang so low that it can block peripheral vision or make it hard for someone to open their eyes completely. However, for most individuals it is caused by the ageing process and can leave many looking for a solution to stay youthful.

Blepharoplasty, or commonly referred to as eyelid surgery, can address these issues and improve the appearance of the upper or lower eyelids or both. Removing excess skin, fine lines, wrinkles, hooded eyes and eye bags while lifting drooping skin allowing individuals to open their eyes with ease and make their eyes look bigger, brighter and more youthful. Lower eyelid surgery removes excess skin and fat to achieve a rejuvenated look throughout the eye area.

The surgeon makes small incisions on the inside of the eyelid or below the lash line, remove any excess skin needed and pull the skin to tighten. The surgeon will then close up the incision with stitches while hiding the scar in the natural fold of the eyelid. The stitches are usually removed within a week after surgery, however in some cases they may stay on longer. Surgery takes around two hours, with injections, needles, and long recovery time needed after the procedure, however, you can usually return home on the same day of surgery.

Blepharoplasty Surgery FAQ’S

Who is a candidate for an upper blepharoplasty?

An upper blepharoplasty is for patients who have loose skin or bulges of fat in the upper lid. Some patients may complain about their eyelids feeling heavy at the end of the day. Rarely there is obstruction of the upper visual fields.

What are the most important factors to consider when deciding whether or not to get an upper blepharoplasty?

The most important factors to consider when considering a blepharoplasty is whether the sort of an improvement the procedure does warrants the expense, risk, and recovery that comes along with the procedure.

What is the best age to have an upper blepharoplasty?

While some patients have an upper eye-lift in their early thirties, the peak for the operation is the forties. There is another peak in the fifties and sixties when a large number of patients have a facelift and the upper eyes are done in conjunction. Ultimately it is not a matter of age; it is when there is enough to do to make it worth doing.

Will there be scars?

Plastic surgeons warn patients that there is always a scar after surgery. But the eyelid heals better than any other part of the body. The reason is that scarring seems to be related to the thickness of the skin and the eyelid has the thinnest skin (that is why scars on the back are almost always unsightly.) Eyelid scars are typically only visible when your eyes are kept closed and someone who knows what they are looking for focuses on your eyelid from a close difference.

How can I tell if I need an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) or a brow-lift?

There are two rules of thumb. If the hooding extends beyond the corner of the eyelid, then you may need a brow-lift since an eye-lift mostly has its effect on the lid skin itself. If you can push up your brows to an ideal height – not too high (!) – and the eyelid is mostly corrected, then you may need a brow lift. But if your brow has a nice arch (in a woman – a man usually has a horizontal bow) and is located above the eye socket, then an eye-lift is what is usually done.

If I am unhappy with my results, or if I simply want another upper blepharoplasty down the line, is it safe to do another one?

The biggest mistake is removing too much skin. You can always remove more, but when too much is removed there can be problems with dry eyes and problems closing the eyelids. Most of the patients who have a blepharoplasty and later ask to have more removed actually are in need of a brow lift and expected more from the blepharoplasty than an upper blepharoplasty can do. Some may be unhappy with extremely crepey and sun-damaged skin, but no surgery changes the inherent qualities of the skin. It actually is extremely unusual for someone to ask to have a revision of their blepharoplasty.

Will I have bruising and if so, how long will it last?

Patients who are committed to icing will have very little bruising. But others can be dedicated to the icing and still develop bruising. In any case it is usually all subsided by a week after surgery.

How long does the swelling last?

By one week the bruising is usually gone. While the upper lids will still be a bit swollen for another week, most people can go out after a week without anyone commenting or seeming to notice that there is any upper eyelid swelling.

What do I have to do to care for the incision?

An upper blepharoplasty incision needs no special care. It is okay to get it wet right after surgery, even cleaning it gently with a soft washcloth. After the sutures are out, no special scar ointment is necessary because this part of the body heals so well.

Will there be scars?

For a transconjunctival blepharoplasty (for removal of just fat), fat is removed from inside the lower eyelid, so there is no visible scar at all. If skin needs to be removed, there will be a scar along the lower eyelid just beneath the lashes. This heals very well and is really not visible.

Will a lower blepharoplasty get rid of the deep lines (crow’s feet) on the sides of my eyes?

A lower blepharoplasty only makes changes in the lower eyelid itself; it does not make changes out to the sides of the eyes in the crow’s feet area.

How To Get Rid Of A Double Chin

Double Chin Reduction Newcastle - RT Aesthetics - North East

How To Get Rid Of A Double Chin?

Seeing a double chin in the mirror may be a sign of weight gain or obesity, but that is not always the case. There are many exercises that target the fat under the chin and neck. There are also other treatments that can be used to support these activities.

You have been devoted to your exercise regime and opted for a healthier diet; despite all of your hard work, stubborn pockets of fat can linger, knocking your confidence and motivation levels. A double chin can be incredibly difficult to shift, they’re not always caused by weight gain and can be attributed to uncontrollable variables such as age and genetics. Going under the knife is always an option but surgery can be daunting and often involves a long recovery period after the operation. There are non-surgical ways to banish your double chin so that you can feel more empowered when you are faced with your reflection.

What Causes A Double Chin

A double chin is caused by an extra layer of fat that develops beneath the chin. A double chin can be caused by a number of factors, including age, diet, and genetics. A few different factors combine in the body to create a double chin. Understanding these factors may help with understanding ways to get rid of the double chin itself. There are a number of factors that contribute to a double chin and it is usually a combination of these factors that result in a visible double chin, not just excess fat like many individuals assume. These factors include the following:

  • Loose Skin
  • Excess Neck Fat
  • Small Chin
  • Weak Chin
  • Drooping Salivary Gland
  • Sagging platysma Muscle
  • Age

Diet and weight

While weight gain is not always the cause of a double chin, it can contribute to it. A diet high in calories, processed foods, and carbohydrates may influence weight gain and a double chin as well. Double chin can also be caused by a significant weight loss as lose skins forms in the area.

Genes may play a role in people developing a double chin. Anyone with a family history of skin with little elasticity or double chins might be more likely to develop one themselves.

Poor posture can weaken the muscles of the neck and chin. This may contribute to a double chin over time, as the surrounding skin loses its elasticity when the muscles are not used.

Double Chin Exercises

There are many simple exercises for a double chin. While there is little scientific research on the effect of these exercises, they target the muscles of the neck and face. Working these muscles could help burn fat in these areas, and may be a crucial part of getting rid of a double chin.

Around the world (warm up)

As with any exercise routine, it is important to warm up the muscles to avoid injury. To warm up the neck, gently rotate the head forward and down and then back and up using a clockwise, circular motion. After a few rotations, reverse the direction. The same circular motion is used to stretch the jaw. Gently extend the jaw left, then forward, then right, and then back, holding each position for a second or two. Now the muscles are warmed and ready for exercise.

Whistle at the ceiling

This exercise is great for strengthening the muscles and giving the neck a break during time spent at the desk. Sit with a straight back and relaxed shoulders.

Tilt the head back to look at the ceiling. From this position, close the lips into the position used while whistling. The lips should be relaxed but held tight enough to feel a contraction on both sides of the neck.

Hold this position for 10 to 20 seconds depending on the comfort level of the individual. Ten repetitions of this exercise are usually enough for one sitting.

Kiss the sky

This exercise is similar to the previous one, with a few differences. Stand straight and tall with the arms and shoulders loose and relaxed. Tilt the head back to look at the ceiling. Pucker the lips and try to kiss the sky, extending them as far away from the face as possible. When done correctly, the muscles throughout the neck and chin should feel flexed but comfortable. Hold this position for 5 to 20 seconds and then relax. Repeat 10 to 15 times per set.

The ball squeeze

Keeping an exercise tool on hand is an excellent way to help some people remember to do their exercises. For neck exercises, it may help to keep a ball somewhere near the desk, bed, or in a place where a person will do the exercises. The size of the ball can range from 5 to 10 inches based on personal comfort and should be easy to squeeze. The ball squeeze is done best from a seated position with a straight back and relaxed shoulders. Place the ball under the chin. Use the chin to push down against the ball in a steady, firm motion. This can be repeated 10 to 30 times during each sitting.

The pouting stretch

Another effective way to target the muscles in the chin and neck is to do a pouting stretch. Standing or seated, stick the bottom lip out as far as possible to form a pouting face. Hold the position for 3 seconds. With the lip still in full pout, use the muscles of the neck to tilt the chin towards the chest without moving the upper back. Hold this position for 3 seconds. Relax the muscles and start again. Repeat 10 to 20 times or until the neck feels the workout.

Double Chin Treatments

Weight gain can also have a negative affected and fat in this area is difficult to remove despite exercise and diet. Ageing is another factor that causes lose elasticity in the skin making it more likely to sag. However, at RT Aesthetics we have a variety of non-surgical treatments available to help with this common issue and give you the body confidence you deserve. If your unsure on what treatment would be most effective you can contact us or book a free consultation. RT Aesthetics advanced practitioners will discuss everything in detail and design a treatment plan based around your own goals and expectations.

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)

Double chins can sometimes be a cause of the ageing process. As we go through the natural ageing process collagen production slows down and the jowls and jawline starts to lose elasticity, resulting in the skin becoming looser and showing signs of sagging. Our non-surgical face lift treatment, HIFU skin tightening treatment, more commonly known as Ultherapy®, is effective for lifting and tightening lose and/or sagging skin. Known as the ‘lunchtime facelift’, a HIFU treatment takes minutes to administer and effectively reduces the appearance of your double chin.

Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)

One of our most popular non-surgical fat reduction treatment Cryolipolysis, or commonly known as Coolscultping®, 3D lipo, Cryo-Lipo and fat freeze. Fat freezing is a non-invasive, non-surgical, clinically proven method of targeting fat in problem areas using cooling technology. The procedure involves controlled cooling within the temperature range of -7 to -10 °C. This destroys the fat cells by a natural process called apoptosis. Cryolipolysis could be the perfect solution to treat that double chin by freezing and destroying the fat cells.

Radio Frequency

When pricey face creams that promise to firm and slenderise don’t work, it might be time to consider Radio Frequency treatment; it’s a great long-term treatment for individuals looking to banish their double chin. Radio Frequency for double chins is on of the most popular non-invasive, non-surgical fat reduction treatment offered by RT Aesthetics. This modern technique melts away fat cells and can sculpt out a jawline that could cut glass. This treatment penetrates deep into the layers of fat so that your skin looks and feels tighter.

Radio Frequency treatment can also turn back the years, as 91% of women found that Radio Frequency treatment reduced the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving them an overall more youthful appearance. Many clients combine the Radio Frequency with the double chin 360 freeze treatment. This allows the fat cells to be broken down with cryolipolysis, causing natural cell death in many stubborn fat cells in the chin. The combination of these 2 treatments causes the fat cells to be easily removed by the body and results in a more toned and defined chin.

A double chin can be difficult to get rid of naturally with the use of exercise and diet. A slimmer face and more defined jawline can do wonders for your self-esteem and you don’t even need surgery to get a more sculpted face; treatments such as HIFU, Cryolipolysis, and Radio Frequency are non-invasive ways to banish your double chin for good.

Fat Freezing

Fat Freezing Newcastle, fat freeze

Fat Freezing, Fat Freeze & Cryolipolysis

As far as weight loss goes, those who are determined to shed a few pounds have a number of options available to them. Of course, exercise and a healthy diet can be two of the keys to success, but there are also a wide range of other techniques to consider in an effort to ‘beat the bulge’. One of the most prominent treatments to emerge in recent times is fat freezing, also known as cryolipolysis, fat freeze, 3D lipo and Cryo-lipo.

So what is a fat freeze? And which benefits does it offer to dieters? In this blog, we take a look.

What is fat freezing?

Fat freezing is a recognised non-invasive technique which involves the freezing of fat cells in order to remove bulges of fat such as double chins and ‘love handles’ at the side of the stomach. Fat freezing is capable of removing as much as a quarter of fat in a specific area, over the course of several treatments.

Fat freezing literally sucks up the fat into a ‘cup’ using paddles, crystallising the fat cells underneath the skin in the first place. The procedure itself can last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and this will depend on the area being targeted. The procedure is recognised as being generally pain-free, while some slight discomfort may be felt due to the numbing of the skin as it gets colder.

You may have only heard about fat freezing in the last one to two years – it has mushroomed in popularity and is now offered by both spas and medical professionals.

Who is fat freezing suitable for?

It should be noted that fat freezing should not be considered a cure for obesity. Its main purpose can be to facilitate the reduction of the most visible fat bulges. As well as the typical target areas of the stomach and face, other areas which can be targeted include the buttocks, thighs, arms and breasts.

Patients may not immediately notice any discernible difference after undergoing fat freezing, as changes can take up to 100 days to take effect. Among the bulging issue which fat freezing has been found to be most effective in addressing is gynecomastia, which is the condition of increased male breast size due to higher levels of oestrogen that results in a hormone imbalance. The fat freezing technique has been proven to improve the appearance of men concerned about this condition, improving their confidence in the process.

It is important to note that the body is required to have a fat percentage which is above a certain level for it to be suitable for the fat freezing treatment. This is because the skin risks suffering from cold burns if an individual does not have the necessary amount of fat on their body in the targeted areas. This analysis of the fat percentage can be an important part of the initial consultation prior to the procedure.

What are the benefits of fat freezing?

As you would expect from a treatment which has already won many converts all over the UK and around the world, there are plenty of benefits to be had from investment in fat freezing. In this section we run through some of them:

Quick turnaround

There are typically no long waiting lists for fat freezing treatment. On the contrary, you can actually undergo the procedure on the same day that you attend your initial appointment. Usually, fat freezing patients will have a consultation with their physician, and after being approved as suitable for the treatment, are able to enter the operating room and complete the procedure in minutes.

Fat freezing is a non-invasive treatment which involves no needles, knives, painkillers or anaesthetic. All patients are asked is that they relax as much as possible during the procedure. For those who are doing their best to avoid invasive techniques such as liposuction, fat freezing can offer a great alternative which does not typically leave the patient with bruising or inflammation following the treatment.

Quick and easy

For those with busy lifestyles, or that are keen to avoid a long treatment, fat freezing offers the opportunity to get ‘in and out’, in no time at all.

No recovery period

While treatments such as liposuction can take up to ten days for patients to recover from, fat freezing typically requires no recovery time. That means that you will be able to resume your normal daily activities immediately after the procedure, including work and physical exercise.

Compared to other techniques which address obesity, fat freezing is recognised as one of the most budget-friendly treatment options. In general, fat freezing treatment costs around 50 per cent of the price of liposuction and is helped by the lack of a need for expensive equipment which is required to carry out the procedure.

Target ‘fat spots’

Those already trying weight loss regimes can find that there are some stubborn spots on the body which seem to harbour fat which is hard to shift. These areas can be perfect for targeting with fat freezing, which gives you flexibility in terms of where on the body you focus. Used in tandem with a healthy lifestyle full of exercise, fat freezing can provide the missing key to unlock the door to sustained weight loss.

A natural look

Many people undergo weight loss programmes for the purpose of looking as well as feeling better, and cosmetically, fat freezing can have a positive effect. That’s because it offers results which appear gradually over time and look more natural than some more invasive treatments.

An effective motivator

When fat freezing is used as part of an integrated weight loss strategy, you might be amazed at how it can boost your confidence and prove to be an effective motivator. That’s because it can give you the peace of mind that comes with a multi-faceted plan to lose weight – not only are you sticking to a healthy diet and getting your necessary exercise in, but you are also using a safe and non-invasive technique to help your weight loss along.

Results which last

While it may take a few months for you to notice the results of your fat freezing treatment, once they arrive, you can look forward to discernible improvements to your figure which can last a long time.

How much does fat freezing cost?

In the UK, you can expect fat freezing treatments to start from the region of £450 upwards, for a treatment which typically takes around an hour. It should be noted that fat freezing is a cosmetic procedure which is not typically covered by medical insurance, which means that patients usually cannot use their policy to pay the cost. That said RT Aesthetics fat freezing is charged at only £125 for 1 area of cryolipolysis.

love handle treatments, RT Aesthetics, Newcastle

What are the possible side effects and risks of fat freezing?

1. Aching or stinging

In some cases, a small degree of aching or stinging has been reported at the treatment site. For those affected, these sensations can be experienced any time from immediately after the treatment to two weeks later. The cause is thought to be the cold temperatures which the skin is exposed to during fat freezing.

2. ‘Tugging’ feeling

Fat freezing patients have described a tugging sensation which is felt when a bulge or roll of fat is placed between the two cold panels – this is a totally normal part of fat freezing treatment. It is a mild feeling which can be discomforting for some, and it will usually be felt for the duration of the procedure.

3. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia

This is a very rare side effect which has arisen at the treatment site following fat freezing, and which occurs more in men. This side effect involves the fat cells growing instead of shrinking, and it is not fully understood why it happens. There is a very low occurrence of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, and it is not physically dangerous.

4. Temporary redness

It is possible for there to be some redness and skin sensitivity at the site of the fat freezing treatment – this is expected to subside in just a few days. This is due to the effect of the cold temperatures on the skin.

What is the history of fat freezing?

Fat freezing may owe its existence to ice pops. That’s because it was Dr Dieter Manstein and Dr R. Rox Anderson in Massachusetts General Hospital who noted, based on medical reports from years earlier, that children who were frequent eaters of ice pops had seen a reduction in fat on their cheeks. The same principle was then applied to other areas of the body in order to engender fat loss, applying a lower temperature of about -40 degrees. This can offer the ‘popsicle effect’ without harming the skin, or nearby organs.

The two doctors didn’t just hit upon the winning formula overnight. It took a great deal of research and experimentation before they were able to confirm the best temperature which could remove fat cells, without producing unwanted side effects in the process. After finding a way to make fat freezing safe, the technique was born and exported around the world.

Fat freezing FAQs

Here are some common questions which we find often crop up from customers looking for fat freezing in Newcastle:

Who is fat freezing for?

Fat freezing will be approved for those in the right condition for the treatment. The treatment requires genuine ‘fat bulges’ as it will not be effective on thicker, firmer tissues. Other factors, such as age and skin condition, can also come into play, and these characteristics can be assessed in an initial consultation.

Does fat freezing offer weight loss?

Fat freezing can help as part of a weight loss programme which also focuses on exercise and a healthy diet. It can make a difference when it comes to improving the shape of the body, and fat freezing patients have reported being able to drop several clothing sizes thanks to the enhanced proportions that are the result of the fat freezing treatment.

Is fat freezing permanent?

Yes, fat freezing is recognised as having the ability to fight fat permanently, but only if a person is able to control their own body weight following the procedure. If a patient returns to bad eating habits and stops exercising, there is no way that fat freezing can prevent them from piling back on the pounds.

Is fat freezing safe?

Yes, fat freezing is a completely non-invasive procedure with a risk level which is considered to be very low compared to procedures such as liposuction. There is not a lot of room for human error, no wounds will be left, and swelling as a result of the procedure is usually minimal.

Fat freeze treatment: The best of both worlds

For those who are already committed to battling obesity with a healthy lifestyle and exercise regimen, fat freezing treatment can offer the best of both worlds. It is a chance to benefit from a procedure which is completely non-invasive and free from many of the side effects which are felt from more alternative treatment methods. But also, it is an opportunity to supplement the fat fighting you are already doing with a form of ‘cheating’?

What do we mean by cheating? That fat freezing only takes a matter of minutes to perform, after which time you can be up and away, continuing your everyday activities. Even during the procedure, you won’t be too restricted, and depending on the area of the body which is being targeted, you could even take the opportunity to do some work or catch up on your emails!

What is Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing) and Can Fat Freeze Help Me?

Fat Freezing Newcastle - RT Aesthetics

Fat Freezing, Fat Freeze & Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis, also commonly known as cool sculpting, 3D lipo, fat freezing, fat freeze and lipolysis: different names, same goal, freezing fat to below – 5 to destroy stubborn fat cells naturally. Fat freeze clinic’s have become very popular across the UK, although they have been present across America and other parts of the world since 2012. ‘Fat Freeze Clinics’ use cryolipolysis (fat freezing) technology to reduce and remove fat cells by freezing them to below – 5ºc. The fat cells are destroyed and removed by the body through the lymphatic system, with results ranging from 20 – 40 percent on average.

What Does Cryolipolysis Mean?

Cryolipolysis is the process of freezing fat cells without affecting other body cells within the body. Through the use of the unique combination of Cryolipolysis treatment procedure, fat freezing kills fat cells and reduces and removes stubborn areas of fat. Cryolipolysis treatment procedure reduce fat cells by 20 – 40% in the treatment area, although some patients may experience more or less fat reduction. Fat cells die in a natural way, known as apoptosis and are removed by the body through the lymphatic system over the 6 – 12 week period following the treatment procedure.

Fat Freeze Results

Fat freeze procedures promise to remove 25 percent of fat in a given treatment area on the body, although 1 – 3 sessions may be required depending on the amount of fat, the area treated and patient’s expectations. Cryolipolysis treatment procedure works by using applicators that apply suction to the skin in order to fat freeze the underlying fat cells. Each cryolipolysis treatment procedure Each procedure can last from 35 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area on the body. The discomfort involved is minimal, although the area treated will first feel hot, than very cold and then numb.

Does Cryolipolysis Work?

Cryolipolysis treatment procedure, also known as fat freezing, is FDA approved non-invasive, non-surgical method of freezing fat cells to get rid of “love handles,” a double chin and other unwanted bulges of fat around the body. The FDA cleared the marketing of the fat freezing method CoolSculpting in 2010 based on results of a study showing that six months after the treatment of love handles in 60 patients, the targeted fat was reduced by an average of 19 percent. Since then, fat freezing has been catching on nationwide. It is offered by medical spas, beauty salons and aesthetic professionals across the UK, and is heavily promoted in television commercials, news and radio.

Is It permanent?

Yes. Cryolipolysis procedure is a permanent fat reduction treatment that offers results of 25 – 40 percent. However results are only permanent if you control your weight, lifestyle and exercise. If you do not follow a healthy lifestyle after treatment and continue to gain weight, fat cells will build up again. future build up of fat cells may not necessary be the area you had treated, but it could cause fat cells to build in other areas of the body. Long lasting results and improvements to your body can also occur by changing your life style behaviour through nutrition and exercise. Remember that you need to put some work in to get the results. If you’re going to do 2 treatment cycles and not change your diet, eating habits or lifestyle at all, your body is not going to change at all.

Does Fat Freezing Cure Obesity?

If you’re considering fat freezing treatment procedure, you should be aware of its limitations. CoolSculpting (fat freeze) is intended to reduce the appearance of visible bulges, such as ‘bingo wings’ or stubborn areas of body fat, not as a treatment for obesity. The specific areas of fat targeted may also include thighs, upper arms, abdomen, male breasts, “banana handles” (fat under the buttocks) and love handles. Based on current research, initial results can be so subtle that patients may not notice any difference, however full results are noticeable after 6 – 12 weeks. As this treatment offers body contour, fat reduction and reduces stubborn fat cells around the body don’t expect any significant weight loss for fat freeze. Fat freeze offers great results and can help a patient feel more confident within themselves, However, with most patients been happy with just 1 treatment, just be sure that if your considering fat freeze treatment you book a free consultation.

What Happens To The Fat?

Through the process of fat freezing, the fat cells become inflamed and your body sends out specialised cells that gradually digest the affected fat cells. Lipids from the fat cells are slowly released and transported by the lymphatic system to be processed and eliminated, resulting in a reduction of fat. Fat cells are flushed out of the body as urine and it is therefore important to dink lots of water after your treatment.

A small study published in September 2015 found that 95 percent of men treated with fat freezing felt their appearance had improved, while 89 percent of men stated that they felt less embarrassment about the appearance of their chest. Each man had two 60 minute fat freeze treatments at two months apart. All men that had the fat freeze treatment felt their quality of life improved and felt better about their body as a whole. Results showed that the procedure is generally safe; with minimal to no downtime for patients, and that the improvements were sustained for a year following treatment. However, further research has shown that results can last over 5 years with a healthy life style. Standard treatment to reduce breast size in men is surgery under general anaesthesia, liposuction or both.

Most clients will find that only one fat freeze treatment is required, however, some areas of the body do respond better than others and more stubborn areas of fat may require more than one treatment. Depending on your personal goals and budget, it is recommend that you combine Cryolipolysis treatment with Ultrasound Cavitation and Radio Frequency. However, during your consultation the aesthetic practitioners will discuss in detail the treatment and help you achieve the very best results. During the consultation they will assess and understand your needs and design a treatment plan bespoke to you. With that in mind, on average each Cryolipolysis treatment session can result in a 30% reduction of fat (see case study page).
